About the Centre….

The YUVA centre is surrounded by greens and gives the feeling of being one with nature, and with the people that live at the centre. The building itself gives mental and physical space to people to think creatively, out of the box and move freely. This two- storied structure is well thought out to provide different kinds of enclosures and open areas to cater to various needs of a group thinking collectively.

·       Seminar hall/ training room with sound system/OHP and slide projector/Multimedia

·      Working group areas yuva

·      Male dormitory with a capacity to house 20 people/ girls dormitory for 12/ and woman’s dormitory for 25.

·      15 rooms - 13 double occupancy/ 2 triple occupancy without A/C

·      Podium and space for outdoor sessions

·      Cafeteria with a choice of vegetarian/ non-vegetarian food 

Model of Enterprise – encouraging people’s organisations

As part of the co-operative training and income generation activities, YUVA Centre has absorbed workforce from among its various youth projects. The youth from Youth Development Centre (YDC) of Wadala and Ghatkopar have been trained with Taj Hotel and Radhakrishna Hospitality services to provide expertise in House-keeping services. Catering services at the YUVA Centre are being offered through the Co-operative (Matrutva food services - homely food) formed through the women groups from Dharavi, Jogeshwari and Street youth.
