CIDCO YUVA Building Centre (CYBC) Managerial Employment Opportunity
Position Title: CYBC Program Manager
Location: Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra
About the CYBC
The CIDCO YUVA Building Centre (CYBC) is a collaborative venture between Maharashtra’s City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and the non-profit Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA). The CYBC was founded in 1999 as part of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s efforts to encourage regional building centres that disseminate best practices in construction.
The CYBC’s mandate is to promote environmentally friendly, low cost building materials and techniques. The CYBC has pioneered technology that recycles construction debris into concrete bricks, blocks, street-pavers, and construction grade sand. Debris recycling incurs many environmental benefits, both by reducing the land-filling of waste and decreasing demand for virgin building materials. The CYBC currently operates a Debris Recycling Demonstration Plant that supplies recycled masonry to area construction projects. We plan to increase the scale and scope of our recycling operations, and aim to see debris recycling adopted widely within India’s construction and waste management sectors.
