YUVA is looking for a Policy / Budget Analyst cum Researcher to work under its program of Housing & Basic Needs. The position will entail involving in policy research and advocacy at the State and National level, particularly on The UN Guidelines for Forced Evictions, the Urban Component for a National Rehabilitation Policy of Project Affected People and a Housing Policy for Maharashtra State. The work on the UN Guidelines and Urban Rehabilitation Policy will also involve direct interventions in three states of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa.

Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA) is a voluntary development organization founded in 1984 with a goal to intervene in issues of social justice. YUVA empowers the oppressed and the marginalized by facilitating their organizations and institutions towards building equal partnerships in the development process ensuring the fulfillment of their human right to live in security, dignity and peace. The Organisation is accredited as an NGO with General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

Desired Qualification and Experience: The candidate should be postgraduate in Social Sciences / Architect – Planner with minimum 4-5 yrs. experience
The person needs to have good documentation and communication skills in English. Knowledge of Marathi will be an added advantage.
Location: The person will be situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra but would need to travel extensively to other urban centers in the country.
Salary: Negotiable depends on experience and competence.
